2013 DATES: April 27-28 – 12s-16s will be hosted at the GRB Convention Center.  Austin Juniors will be hosting the 17s and 18s in Austin.

SCHEDULES ARE POSTED.  CHECK BACK FOR CHANGES FRIDAY AS THE SCHEDULE WILL LIKELY CHANGE LAST MINUTE.  Please note:  Texas Tornados 14 Mizuno is playing in 15 Bid although they will not be advancing.  They have an open bid for Nationals in the 14s division and this was a one time exception granted by the Region due to a last minute drop this week.

Saturday Playing Times:  All Bid Divisions will start play in the AM wave Saturday and All NON Bid Divisions will play in the PM wave.

TEAM CHECK IN:
Teams must register prior to playing their first match. Registration will be held on Friday night between 6pm-8pm at the main tournament desk between Hall A & B or Saturday 7am-9am or Saturday noon – 2pm at the “Coaches” entrance in Hall C.  Reminder Saturday morning you will have a long line to register.  BRING A COPY OF THE ROSTER FROM AES SIGNED.

SCHEDULES/RESULTS:
Schedules & results will be available on Advanced Event Systems. There will be a bank of computers near each tournament desk with AES available. If you see an error in results, please tell the tournament staff so that the scoresheet can be reviewed and the system can be corrected.

TICKETS:
Weekend passes will be available for adults for $9 and children (6-18yrs) & Seniors (65+) for $6.  Presales will be available on Friday evening from 6-8:00 pm at the GRB or in the Hilton Americas lobby.

SPECTATOR WARNING:  As spectators, you may choose to be in close proximity to the volleyball courts.  You do so at your own risk.  Be mindful that volleyballs may come from multiple directions.

PLAYING SITES:
The main site will be the George R Brown Convention Center.  See the map of venues page for address and directions.  Coolers will be allowed outside the convention center only.  No food or drinks are allowed inside.  Also, no chairs.  The GRB has chairs provided around each court.

GRB PARKING:
Parking is available in various paid parking lots as well as under Discovery Green Park directly across from the Convention Center. NO PARKING IN THE BACK OF THE CONVENTION CENTER – there is NO ENTRY from that side of the building. Parking Meters downtown are NOT free on Saturdays. Prices range but most lots are between $10-$12 per day. You will have to walk around the convention center if you park behind the loading docks. There is no entrance in the back.

Downtown parking lot attendants will be wearing a yellow vest with a badge.

Bid Divisions Allocations for the Lone Star Region

The top teams from the LS Junior Regional BID division qualify for a bid in the GJNC Club Divisions as follows:
12′s – Two National Division Bids; Three American Division Bids
13′s – Two National Division Bids; Three American Division Bids
14′s – Two National Division Bids; Three American Division Bids
15′s – Two National Division Bids; Three American Division Bids
16′s – Two National Division Bids; Three American Division Bids
17′s – Two National Division Bids; Three American Division Bids
18′s – Two National Division Bids; Three American Division Bids

Notes:

1) Teams that have qualified previously for the 2013 GJNC tournament in the Open or National division are not eligible to play in the LS region Bid division.

2) Teams that have qualified previously for the 2013 GJNC tournament in the USA or American division are eligible to play in the LS region Bid division in order to improve to a National division bid.

3) If a team having a USA bid wins a National bid at LS regionals; then, their original USA bid remains with the region and will be awarded to the next highest team placement of the LS regional tournament.

4) If a team having an American bid wins a National bid at LS regionals; then, their original American bid is lost by the LS region and goes back for reallocation.

Penalties for Not Using a GJNC Bid Earned at LS Regional Tournament

When a team chooses to play at the Lone Star Regional Bid tournament and at the conclusion of the tournament does not accept an earned bid for the GJNC tournament, all teams within the club will not be allowed to play in the LS Regional Bid division for the following season.

This exclusive will be determined at the end of the bid tournament and will not apply to teams offered a bid at a later date.
